Spicy Kerala fish curry with raw mango/Meen manga curry

This is a spicy, tangy and delicious fish curry from Kerala. In this dish fish is cooked along with spices, raw mango slices and ground coconut. Click on "show more " below for detailed recipe. Ingredients: 1 cup thinly sliced raw mangoes; 1/2 cup small red onions or sambhar onion; Few curry leaves; 1 tbsp chopped ginger; 1 tsp chopped garlic; Few green chillies; 1 1/2 tbsp coriander powder; 2 tbsp red chilli powder; 1/2 tsp turmeric powder; 3/4 cup freshly grated coconut; 9 pieces of fish, pomfret is used in this recipe. You can also use king fish or salmon; For tempering: Few small red onion or sambhar onions; 3 tbsp coconut oil; 1/2 tsp mustard seeds; salt to taste; 2 pinch of fenugreek powder; 1 dried red chilli; In a blender add freshly grated coconut, some water, grind to a smooth thick paste and keep it aside. To the blender add red chilli powder, coriander podwer, turmeric powder, garlic, ginger, little water and grind to a smooth paste. In a manchatti or a pan add the red onion,green chillies, curry leaves and the ground chilli paste. Add about 1 1/2 cups of water, salt and mix well. Cover and cook till it comes to a good boil. Now add the mango slices and cook covered for 4 minutes. Add the fish and cook for about 3 minutes. Add the coconut paste and salt if needed and mix gently. Add 1/2 - 1 cup water and simmer on medium flame for 5 minutes and turn off the flame. Heat a pan and add coconut oil. Add mustard seeds and when it starts to crackle add the red onions. Saute for minute and add the dried red chilli, curry leaves and saute till the onions turn golden brown. Turn off the flame and add fenugreek powder, mix well and add the tempering to the curry. Serve hot with rice!
