@kittycat893010 months ago I think Killing Voice only showed a small fraction of what EXO is capable as vocalists. There are so many other songs they left out that really showcase their vocal flexibility and power. There is no exaggeration when ppl say EXO is the #1 vocal kpop group.
I think it's interesting watching reactions from different vocal coaches or singers bc they highlight different parts of a performance and explain things in different ways.
I could tell you guys have a strong bias for Baekhyun's voice and his style (don't blame you, the man is a singing genius). Everyone has their own preference or opinion so I get the comments towards the others.
I think you should really watch more of EXO's live performances, but especially more videos of Chen. The man definitely doesn't have a small voice, he is actually the loudest of the group and doesn't need a mic tbh lol. He does a really great job at holding back as much as he needs to in order to not be overpowering. He is also considered either the #1 or #2 best male vocalist among kpop idols (other being Suju's Kyuhyun). Chen has huge range from singing low notes to singing a high pitch song in the original female key.

Like they did praise him and even complimented on how easily h id="hidden18"e made it in some high notes. I feel like due to chen vocal range hes often given the higher or more belty lines because he can do it with much more ease. Thats why you really dont see his vocal range in a group setting as much as you do in his solo work. They never said they didnt like his voice just that it looked strained so it was out of a place of concern if anything. Like if someone tries imitating chen they might do more harm to their voice than good. And this is only their second time watching them as a group. And its hard to get a totally grip on someone range and vocal tendencies especially when their in a group setting. Like sometimes you just have to read the lyrics to understand why they sang it that way.
