Solar Powered RC Boat theory test

I often get asked if I can make an RC solar powered boat. If I provide a battery to power the receiver then the answer is probably yes, but if it is to be truly solar powered without using storage batteries then I think I would need a rather large solar panel to supply the necessary current. The panel on one of my solar boats was originally intended to be part of a kit for charging mobile phones and gives a reasonable output but it failed this test.
