Qualitative Research Methods in Translational Science

Presented by Heather Stuckey, MEd, DEd This presentation will describe how qualitative research can help to inform translational and implementation science interventions. The discussion will include examples of research questions, how to begin designing a qualitative study, and the rigor that is needed for analysis. At the Qualitative and Mixed Methods Core, Dr. Stuckey has helped to design and implement over 60 studies. She has trained qualitative researchers in nearly all departments of Penn State Health and conducted training for focus group facilitators in preparation for the completion of NIH, PCORI, and internal grants. Dr. Stuckey is a course director for the Public Health Sciences Qualitative Research course.
